TYSL hosts clinics for the recreational (house) league teams. These clinics are put on by professional trainers, paid for by the Troy Youth Soccer League. The clinics are a great opportunity for the children to be exposed to a variety of techniques, skills, and new games. They can also serve as a learning experience for coaches (especially coaches new to coaching and/or coaching soccer). You may wish to substitute a clinic for one of your practices. If you have a specific need or you want to focus on a specific soccer skill (e.g. passing, dribbling, shooting, defense, etc), simply let the trainer know at the beginning of your session and the trainer will generally be able to put together a session or routines that address your need(s) on the spot. Location The clinics will be held at Wass Elementary School (in the sub between John R and Dequindre and between Long Lake (18 mile) and Square Lake (19 mile)). You can get to the school by way of Highbury (from John R), by way of Blair (from Long Lake), and by way of English (from Dequindre). Dates and Times The clinics will run for four weeks beginning Monday, April 22, 2013, Monday through Thursday until Thursday May 16, 2013, with one-hour session slots available at 6:00 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. Clinics are cancelled when games are cancelled. How to Request a Clinic Registration will be done thru an online form at tysl.org/html/Clinic_Request_Form.html. Slots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis so act promptly to secure a slot and/or preferred slot. If you wait too long to sign up and all the slots are filled, I won’t be able to help you. If you want to sign up for a clinic (maximum two per team), please fill out the online form 1.PLEASE CHECK YOUR GAME SCHEDULES BEFORE REQUESTING A DATE / TIME. 2. In the Comments section at the bottom of the form you can list specific requests. I will attempt to schedule around your preferences and I will try get back to you quickly so that you can plan ahead.
